Promising

We tried to go for a walk to the beach from our campsite near Narbonne beach, but found that our path was flooded and impassible! So we decided to pack up and move on.

We went back via the tallest bridge in the world “The Millau Viaduct” across the gorge of the river Tarn - one of the greatest engineering achievements of modern times.
This time we actually drove on the bridge, experiencing lovely views of the valley far below.

After a winding and tricky drive up narrow lanes we found a lovely peaceful place to camp for the night at Auriac-l’Eglise in the Auvergne region near the Massive Central mountain range. It was sunny but started to rain lightly as soon as we got settled, which produced this lovely rainbow!

We tried to find a restaurant to eat dinner but the only one in the village was closed, so we baked a pizza we had purchased yesterday and I made a salad and opened an excellent Chilean red wine that Kevin had chosen for us on our last visit. We finished off with some very special chocolate we bought in Spain - Xocolata Jolonch I wish we had bought more for gifts!
