We do ceremony well

Very moved watching the transfer of the late Queen to Westminster Hall for the lying in state. On 5th April 2002 I sat by my Mother’s bedside in the nursing home and we watched the procession of the late Queen Mother to her lying in state in the morning. Mum was physically very ill but her brain was still active and she was enjoying reminiscing about the Queen Mum in the war and other events in her long life. We watched the lunchtime news then she went to sleep as usual in the afternoon - but didn’t wake up, she died as the 6 o’clock news started.
