A new place to fish...
Took a beautiful drive today with the three kids and Aunt Barb and visited Chapman Lake, outside of town. Discovered they have very inexpensive boat rentals, free fishing from the bank - and just a nice peaceful place to go. We got out and walked around with the kids, even though we didn't have any fishing stuff. They had a blast throwing rocks in the water (rocks Barb had to actually dig out of the ground to find) and walking around among the wildflowers. All the kids toured this old, run down boat before leaving. Hannah liked to climb in and out and in and out! She could have done it all day long.
We're gearing up for a big fishing trip tomorrow. The kids have their "fishing clothes" ready to put on, and they are thrilled about getting up at 6:30am instead of 7am. I caught some nightcrawlers tonight. It's a tradition I'll uphold all the days of my life. Takes me right back to my grandpa's yard, when we used to collect worms for our fishing trips to the same place we are going tomorrow! :)
One last side note - Today, in my attempt to get a snuggle from my son, he informed me I smelled like dog food and needed to go take a shower. How humiliating! Oh well! Goodnight all. Hopefully, I've got a great blip of a big fish caught by little people for tomorrow's blip!
