A Printer Worked Here

I left school and became an apprentice compositor. From this statement you can deduce my age! I can still read words backwards and upside down. This I quickly learnt how to do when setting and looking at metal type.

Hence when I saw this sign over a passageway I deliberately took it from the inside, so reversing the wording.

There is no sign of a printing works now, there is a small garden, a shop and what I think must be an upstairs flat. And the sign becoming history now. Like me!
