Karri on
Deep in the Karri forest near Pemberton in the south-west of Western Australia, a fallen Karri tree supports a host of decomposing organisms. Such as this moss. And, in the extra, an orange-coloured fungus. Karri is a gum tree, Eucalyptus diversicolor. It grows only in the high-rainfall south-west, and is one of the world’s tallest trees.
Later: Thanks, blippers, for your kind comments on the moss. I’ve now switched the original main and the extra!
