Another visitor

I have had a wasp trap out for a couple of months although I don't really like killing them but there are just so many round here in the garden and in the house.  This morning two or three hornets decided to visit so they also must be living nearby.  We usually see them somewhere in the summer.  One year they settled in one of the pipes in the muck spreader and we had to get the Council to come out and get rid of them.

The extra photo is of a wood pigeon just waking up this morning on the lawn behind the house.

Yesterday I had an appointment at the hospital with the surgeon re a hip replacement.  He was very friendly and easy to talk to.  It might happen before Christmas as it is severe.  A little daunting and three months of sleeping on my back and being careful but it is worth it in the end.  (First one done about 8 years ago.)
