Beach Hut Cafe.
One of those sparkling blue days of Autumn, decided on a seafront walk. Lots of customers at the Beach Hut Cafe for breakfast. Still lovely weather but not as warm as it has been right through Summer here. Slight drop in temperature has enlivened Ginny perhaps or maybe the small amount of rain has given an increase to scents at the allotments. Ginny has been "on fire" with her scenting, conducting all her walk at the furthest point of the extending lead and pulling wildly this way and that to explore every track. It tires her out but it's nice when she adopts a more relaxed walk alternating tracking with walking beside me. Today after a "sniff-fest" at the beginning of the walk - no tracks along the seafront but lots of "dog postings" at lamp posts etc.- and after a quick game with a tennis ball kicked along for her she settled down to a very comfortable pace right beside me, not exactly a power walk but brisk enough to raise the heart rate. I've tried to distinguish between country style outings and "concrete path" walks where I am expecting a bit of discipline and heel work. It seems to be working! She will be 2 yrs. in November and just recently there have been signs of some maturity and acceptance of rules. She's still a very lively little 3kg. bundle of fun - sometimes I wish she had come with instructions on how to remove one of her batteries but wouldn't change her!
