Spring colour.

The Okanagan is a very dry area but in the spring the hillsides are pretty green with wild sage and for about 3weeks they are covered with these wild sunflowers called balsam root. These are growing everywhere at the base of the climbing cliffs at Skaha Bluffs and I loved the way this clump stood out against the old burnt tree trunk. That was from a huge fire that swept through in the 90's
