Winding up for action!

An enforced drive up to mum and dad's to return their house keys that I inadvertently came away with on Thursday. We took the Z4 for some top down driving and went up towards the Peak District for a drive and a walk out in the sunshine rather than the usual drag up and down the motorway. I found somewhere new to drop by - Middleton Top Country Park.

At Middleton Top stands the impressive and last surviving winding engine from the Cromford and High Peak Railway. The path follows the old rail track down a nice the nice 1 in 8 inclined plane down towards Cromford just outside Matlock. The other direction is flat.
