The tree.

The beech tree was planted on the day Queen Elizabeth was crowned in 1953. It's been the focal point of the village since then for Christmas carol services, Armistice day, New Years Eve celebrations and as of last Thursday following the death of Her Majesty, a place to lay flowers, leave messages of condolence or just sit on one of the benches in silent prayer.
I walked up tonight after coming back off holiday to lay some flowers and thank her for her life of service..
