The over-rated cupcake store

This bakery, famous for its cupcakes, lies on the most direct route between my apartment and my best friend’s apartment. I have probably passed it hundreds of times in my life, and almost every time there is a crowd inside. On the first few occasions when there was no crowd, I went inside and bought myself a cupcake. Horrible — way too sweet. But it took me two or three tries to realize I felt that way, and to learn to ignore the crowds (or their absence) in making my decisions about taste.
