Rhodes by Day, Rhodes by night

We did a guided tour of the Old City of Rhodes this evening. It was a fabulous trip. Our guide, Katerina, took us round the Old City using headsets so we could hear her. She was interesting even though the headsets cut out occasionally.

Our deal included a meal with wine, salad and chicken, with ice cream and milk dessert. It certainly hit the spot. We met a couple of Dutch people and a couple from near Royston.
We then had a couple of hours free time to wonder. Tom wanted to go to the Tabacco club. We found it easily and Tom purchased some cigars.
There’s a good variety of proper shops with beautiful jewellery, linens, furs, leather goods, rugs and decent clothes.
There was also Rhodes “need for speed” festival happening so lots of fast cars zooming around.
The boat trip was a bit naff and I was glad to get back onto dry land. The atmosphere, smells of street food, street vendors, slightly high people, Greek music will stay with me for a long time.
It was difficult to choose a photo to upload if you’d like to see more please check out my Facebook page.
