Fluke shot

30 years ago, when I first created a pond and added lots of big fat juicy fish, herons were regular visitors to my garden. Within a couple of years, herons rarely visited. I spotted a heron on the lawn a few days ago and was surprised and assumed it was confirming that I hadn't replaced the big fat juicy fish. 
Movement around the pond caught my eye this morning. Luckily, I still had a longish lens on from yesterday, so I had a brief second or two to get a shot through the kitchen window. When I looked at the image on the computer, I thought he'd been looking for weed to line the nest....then  my eye wandered to the end of his bill...
