Exhibition of the frescoes in the Sistine Chapel

We went to an exhibition of the marvelous frescoes painted by Michelangelo. The paintings were finished in 1482 and are seen as one of the major artistic accomplishments of human civilisation. Huge frescoes adorn the Chapel and the ceiling. Today's exhibition was huge panels of the frescoes so it was possible to see details and the incredible beauty of the paintings. There were several frescoes of Sybils who were seen as soothsayer in their time and this Delphic Sybil was especially beautiful.
