Cabinet Card
The 52frames challenge for this week is portrait of a stranger. I decided to create an image of this cabinet card that is part of my collection of antique photographs. This style of photograph was most popular between 1870 and 1920. This example is dated 1891, so it is 131 years old. There is a handwritten inscription on the back that reads “To Beverley and Gladys from Ike.” The two children shown in the image were not identified, so this truly is a portrait of strangers. I will never know who they are.
