.... the goatherd.

Out first thing early every morning with his goats, I found this kind, shy goatherd with his three dogs on the outskirts of the village. He is a softly spoken man with a deep love of his goats and the land. He has around 168 goats and has been a goatherd for all of his life. He was amused and a little reticient at my request to photograph him and fell into contemplation, being rather shy.  Today's MonoMonday theme of environmental portraiture is a challenge for me and thanks AnnieBelle for hosting.

I've incuded a few extras to introduce some of Francisco's lovely goats.

May Elizabeth II rest in peace. It was a solemn day today and her funeral was a dignified spectacle worthy of a much loved Queen.
