After the funeral

We watched the Queen's funeral on TV and after we had seen the hearse pass along the Great West Road, about half a mile from our home, we went for a walk up there. The road was still closed to traffic and the flowers that had been thrown as the hearse passed were lying where they had landed, like this rose. A contrast to the elaborate ceremony of the day, but another remembrance of a life well lived.
