We are meeting to celebrate the career of the great Roger Federer who has retired and to generally talk tennis stuff
There is a leg of lamb in the oven covered in rosemary from the garden and the smell is divine. I am making this bean stew to go with it; fried potatoes and grilled tomatoes from my friend’s garden

For dessert, I made smushy brownies and double cream.
I ran into the wine section and asked the young lad to pick me out a bottle of vin rouge, about 20 euros, French with a castle on the label (I think that’s a good bet) and this evening we will lift a glass to toast Roger, a true sportsman.
