The funeral of Queen Elizabeth II
What a send-off!
Such a fitting tribute to a great queen.
We don't do things by half in this country, do we!
We watched the lot - we'd only intended to watch the Westminster Abbey service and procession but ended up watching it all apart from a short break to make lunch as she was on her way to Windsor.
She had an amazing life and it must be a very difficult job to do, especially when it's forced on you. She pledged to serve until her death and did her duty to the end, her last day of work being only 2 days before she died. A hard act to follow but I wish King Charles the best.
It was very moving to watch it all play out and I have great admiration for how it was done and done so well. It was lovely to see such crowds lining the routes.
The only downside of today is that I now have the Chopin funeral march stuck in my head - it was the Beethoven one earlier but now Chopin has taken over.
