I find pomp, ceremony and rules about public behaviour difficult and stressful but being surrounded by them on a scale I haven't seen before I can recognise that having dozens of rules that must be followed facilitates constitutional stability.
In the absence of royalty, the USA created its own traditions and despite that got Trump and 6 January 2021. The UK's ceremonies go back much further but what if Philanderer (to put it mildly) Andrew had been the firstborn?
