Yellow on Yellow

Another busy day that started at 330 this morning when I couldnt sleep. No reason, just AWAKE. Made some hot chocolate. Did a crossword and some word games. Tried to fall back to sleep. Got up. Etc etc. But today was canning day, no slacking, since the flat of tomatoes was sitting in the middle of the kitchen. Factoid: it takes two people 45 minutes to peel 20 pounds of tomatoes. (How long would it take 6 people to peel 50 pounds?) Canning tomatoes is easier than making sauce, and now we have 7 beautiful quarts to brighten our winter menus. We may have to get another flat. I haven't bought a canned tomato for nearly fifty years.

After lunch we worked in the garden, taking out old plants and planning some more cold season crops. And guess what: I'm beat.
