We Didn’t Really Need To Get Wet
With just the three of us we felt we could push our little hire car a bit more and so we headed off up the coast road to explore the north of the island.
Our first stop was Kassiopi, a lovely little port town with a little beach and a castle. We stopped for breakfast at a cafe right on the waters edge and had endless fun feeding the fish. After a walk up to the castle, which was more about the views than the castle itself we headed off to our next stop Sidari.
Sidari was a complete contrast, it looked tired and touristy with end to end bars, you can imagine it’s buzzing of an evening. After a drink stop in one of the said bars overlooking the beach we walked up to see the Canal D’Amor, this amazing rock formation, that was believed to bring you love and romance if you swam through..we decided after 28 years of marriage we didn’t really need to get wet trying it!
We headed back to the villa cross country…or should I say cross mountain. It was a stunning if not slightly scary at some points drive home.
