Watch out for seagulls, derrick!

Apparently this is going to be ready for the public in only three days time...

This, I can tell you, is a a key part of the Festival of Brexit. If you'd not heard much about the Festival of Brexit that Johnson and Rees-Mogg were so proud of, it's actually going on at the moment - although it's only attracted about 0.4% of its target audience - it was however hurriedly rebranded to remove any connection with Brexit once that was proven to be what we always knew it was going to be. It's now called Unboxed: Creativity in the UK...

Imagine buying one of the seafront properties in Weston super Mare - not a particularly cheap place to live - and suddenly finding you have a creatively embedded rusty oil drilling platform in place of your sea view... Will the hotels and B&Bs be replacing 'room with sea view' with an updated description, do you think?

Anyhow, rather than recycling all the oil rig steelwork, someone felt it would be fun to drag it up onto the beach and make an art installation of it. "See Monster" is 35m tall, although it looks smaller being behind the walls of the old Tropicana lido. It is said be going to have a thirty metre waterfall, but that's rather difficult to visualise since it's only halfway up the structure.

It is something to see, though, and perhaps Weston needed something.
Do go Large.

The Tropicana hosted Banky's Dismaland Bemusement Park that, coincidentally, I blipped from exactly seven years ago today!
