Garden resident

One of our little hoverflies feasting. There were several  - two different types at least. The cosmos makes a lovely late summer food bowl. 
It’s been a long day. Started with my trying to shampoo the carpet only for the machine to start pouring clouds of acrid black smoke! I managed to avert a fire however it took hours to clear the smell! Mum was fine then I had a quick coffee with a friend. Overarching everything though is the grief involved in coming to terms with the sudden, unexpected  and imminent loss of a very dear friend. Life is so very unfair sometimes.
