Proud mummy (and daddy) moment

We had a letter from school on Monday to say that Charlotte had been selected to receive a governor's writing award in assembly this morning. Work kindly said I could go in a bit late so we both went along, we hadn't mentioned it to her and she didn't seem to know about it so it was lovely to see her smile when she saw us.

Last year she got a certificate and a pencil for a piece of writing. Each class puts together a booklet with a piece of writing from each child, the governors choose 3 or 4 from each class and a winner from each class, and then an overall school winner.

Lottie was the Year 1 winner so she got a book and a certificate. Unfortunately the book is way too easy for her but it has got a bookplate in the front to say why she was given it so we will treasure it!

She was super giddy tonight - off on her first residential tomorrow, an overnight to Bramhope scout camp in Leeds. We have packed her case, so she is ready for the off. I, on the other hand, am thinking she is far too young to be going away :-(
