We just caught the sunset at the "straight out" beach...five minutes from the kitchen door, three of which were hoofing it over the sand dunes. So beautiful! I could get used to this. 

Earlier, an interesting afternoon in Aberdeen at the public library. W had a meeting that he connected into via the library wifi, and I spent a couple hours visiting by phone with sis-in-law M and my mom, who's arriving in Westport tomorrow, and generally exploring. The Aberdeen area's long been depressed and run down, since its days as a prosperous logging town, though there are some bright spots. Would like to get to know it better. It had been decades since I'd been in the library, long ago with my grandmother who loved her mystery books.

Extra: tomorrow's cobbler, though the berries need a good wash...
