End of the line
We were thwarted at every turn today, but managed to see the funny side and have a lovely day anyway. We paid for a 'day rover' ticket for the Llangollen railway (vintage trains on a restored ten-mile stretch of track) and made it to the last station on the line - but then ended up on a rail replacement bus service, as there was a problem with the track! (lol)
After an hour and a half wait at Carrog, we boarded a coach back to Llangollen - and decided we might as well do the walk up to Castell Dinas Bran that we'd planned for tomorrow. Had a nice wander along the canal, then set off uphill towards it - but ended up faced with a field full of horses where we were supposed to join the footpath. They all looked a bit young and frisky and neither of us fancied getting in among them. So back we headed to the car....
Then decided to drive to a higher point to pick up the path to the castle - but when we got there, Tim was feeling super tired and couldn't face the walk up. Thwarted again!
Anyway, we had a nice evening, and made use of the hot tub again - and had a tasty Chinese takeaway too - so can't complain!
