Sad

Out for coffee with OB this morning, I took this picture - an empty table and two chairs under an apple tree. When we got home I heard the sad news that Hilary Mantel has died. It seems an appropriate image.

I haven't read any of her major historical fiction*. But she wrote a memoir,  Giving Up the Ghost, which spoke to me very personally. And I loved her short story The Assassination of Margaret Thatcher.
