Chastleton (FF23_2022)
We were intending to be away to Devon today but our motorhome is stuck at the Citroen dealer with an alternator fault. Fortunately it is still just within the warranty so the cost to us should be just inconvenience.
So - a trip out closer to home, my blip is Chastleton House in the Cotswolds (near Moreton in Marsh). The house was built in ~1610 but the family picked the wrong side in the civil war and never really recovered their fortunes. Supporting the Jacobite cause in the 1740s perhaps a case of not reading the room? There were a few additions in the Victorian period, mostly confined to the kitchen, but very little structural work so the house is largely as the original builder saw it.
My blip is a view from the garden onto the rear of the house.
One for Flower Friday - thanks to BikerBear for hosting.
In the extra, an internal view of the long gallery, which is up in the roof space and brightly lit on a good afternoon.
Wide Wednesday Results: as ever there were some great interpretations, good use of the wide angle distorted perspectives and the portrait format framing has been well used.
My last week next Wednesday
