Friday: Coco Garden
I hadn’t had a chance to meet all the team yet, and K hadn’t met many of them, so we invited those who were in the office today to come over to the house at lunchtime for some meat pies (a very popular dish here). It was nice to see everyone in a more relaxed setting.
And, much excitement this afternoon, I went off with Humberto to register the car (that was hilarious, as we really were sent from pillar to post and back again) and guess what I now have? Yes, a Belizean driving licence. That’s pretty cool.
Belmopan is not known for evening dining opportunities but there is the Coco Garden which we went to this evening and which was really nice. There were lots of crickets and frogs to be heard.
We’ve heard a lot about Belmopan being a goldfish bowl. As evidence of that, an American couple came over and introduced themselves in the restaurant as they’d heard we were new in town. Word’s got around……
