A Walk in the Park
A gentle day. A long lie in. A quiet morning all round. This afternoon we went to Highbury Park, one of the larger of the many green spaces in southern Birmingham. Gently undulating parkland which was once the gardens of Highbury Hall, lots of interesting trees and plants although much of it fairly wild. Two different autumn crocuses made it especially memorable for me, the massed display of Crocus kotschyanus was as good as any I have seen. I cooked a roast evening meal for the three of us and a fairly somnolent evening awaits although I will run through tomorrow's talk and add in the massed crocus pic from today as it fits the theme of the talk well. Tomorrow's title is 'A Bulb for All Seasons.'
