Birthday camping

We met at 12 and walked straight down to the Thames for a very glorious swim. It was clear, a fine 18degrees and with barely any comment. Then we sat on the sunshine river bank for post swim brandy hot chocolate and a sausage roll. A very lovely time.

Then checked into our campsite, got ourselves sorted, went to the pub for lager, cider and chips, came back to camping for prawn cocktails and a close examination of Hannah’s map of train routes across Europe. Got second wind and shockingly didn’t go to bed until midnight! Also got birthday presents, swimming in Italy book and a proper soft blanket thing. Top day.
