Water jets

A drive to the local garden centre where I bought my 2023 calendar and two bags of bird seed. I was cold when I went and still cold when I got back so put the heating on for a few hours. I’ve been trying to hold off daytime heating until October.



While trying to find the name of a tarn in the Windermere area I came across a link to an article in Outdoor Swimmer (2020). In the 1950s two Grasmere men decided to swim in every Lakeland tarn they could find. In 8 years they recorded 463 and later got the total up to 534 (and 195 small pools). I’m not setting a target but it will be interesting to see how many I can visit by the end of March. I’m not swimming in them or even dipping my hand in. It’s safer just to take a photo.
