Monasterio de Piedra

We had a family road trip today to the Monasterio de Piedra - a fabulous national park with many different waterfalls along a super walk. I managed about half the walk but the rest of the family (except Simon who stayed with me) stuck with it and did the whole route. Susana's mum came too as her father was in their village helping with the grape picking and crushing. 
The monastery dates back over 800 years and is mostly a ruin, though there is a hotel in the renovated part and it looks luxurious! Conferences and weddings take place here.
