Provost

A return to Ceres this morning, of which more below, and spotted this odd-looking sculpture on which is carved the word 'Provost'. An internet search later in the day revealed that the provost in question is reportedly Thomas Buchanan, Minister of Ceres and Provost of Ceres in the late 16th century. The sculpture was created in the 1830's and, after being situated in various places over the years, has been in its current location since 1939.

Got to Ceres in time this morning to catch the 9:31 bus to Kennoway and from there I followed the route of the Fife Pilgrim Way back to the car park at Ceres, a distance of around 14.5km or nine miles. I've now completed most of this route, with only the final section from Ceres to St Andrews to do. Fair weather over the next few days and I can tick that off my wishlist.
