Support for mothers in rural India
Our local partner in Bhavnagar District, India takes maternal healthcare to the heart of rural villages.
Shri Pragnaben has worked as a specialist nurse in this area for more than 25 years. Here she is (on the right) conducting a village check-up, with help from a trainee nurse. They are providing this new mother with information about immunisations and sound nutrition, as well as checking baby's weight and health.
Shri Pragnaben also oversees our 20 village Mothers' Clubs which promote family health in remote areas. 755 women currently attend on a regular basis.
