New growth
I am always amazed with plants and how they sort of magically appear from dead looking bulbs. This is the first shoot from the Hippeastrum which flowers for months in my garden. There is always discussion about whether it is an amaryllis or hippeastrum. The plant scientists have been arguing since the early 1800s. Here in Australia we grow them in the garden as well as indoor pots. They are sold as hippeastrums.
We did a few jobs today including getting the car and trailer serviced and took 7 big bags of books to a charity (Lifeline).
Visitors are coming tomorrow. Bob’s sister and her hubby (our caravanning buddies). I’m not sure how long they are staying but they are easy to have and I’m not doing anything special other than buy some more food. We last saw them in Taree in July.
