Stuck

The lovely hosts of a couple of nights ago were not able to put us up another night after all, so we found ourselves an emergency Airbnb last night - thankfully there was exactly one left, and the owner let us go in early. We left at 11 am this morning - check out time - hoping that the Ring Road would open at some point this afternoon. The terrible winds are supposed to die down around 3 pm (in 26 minutes). We grabbed some groceries, followed by lunch and have been sitting at the “Closed” sign to the Ring Road in Hofn for a couple of hours now. The car is not freezing but it is being buffeted by the wind. An emergency vehicle is angled across the road allowing no one to pass. We can’t go west and we can’t go east. We can only wait. It’s all actually ok (although boring) but sooner or later someone will have to use the toilet I think. We decided we’d start the 6 hour drive when the road opens and if we have to drive till midnight we will!
