Brockhampton

We met our friends John and Jennie at the National Trust property near Worcester,  Brockhampton.  This is an estate boasting the largest fruit orchard cared for by the National Trust.   Set in the beautiful countryside of Herefordshire it is centred with a tudor house, complete with gatehouse over the moat, and the runs of a Norman chapel.

From entry via the main road there is a mile and a half of steep, very narrow, winding drive to the car park which is used for entry and exit.  We had to wait for two coaches leaving the property.

This is our first visit here, and very enjoyable, despite the changeable weather, one minute sunny, next raining.  There is a food and hot drinks kiosk, though meals are not supplies, just soup, and most of the seating is outside.  Having brought a picnic this was not a problem and the coffee was fine.

We looked around the house, different ages in different rooms. Very interesting. Then we took a walk to the woods.

Submitted for Mono Monday even though it's not on theme (though there is a person in the shot but you have to look very carefully to see her).  Thanks to AnnieBelle for hosting.
