Early morning wake-up call!

I woke up this morning at 5.00 a.m. to the sound of an engine running outside my flat. I eventually hauled myself out of bed and drew back the curtains to find a fire engine right outside my window and the road opposite taped off.

It turned out that the British Legion had been on fire for several hours. I realised that I wouldn't get off to sleep again so got up, got dressed and went outside to join the spectators.


It's funny how it takes a crisis to pull the community together.
