Enamel Orchids

well today was definitely Wildflower Day.  I had a vivid memory of travelling along a gravel road in the Stirling Ranges to Bluff Knoll and was keen to try and travel that road again.  It ended up taking over 4 hours to travel around 45 kilometres.  It was a never ending “stop the car” moment and on this occasion I had walked across to take an image of a sea of pink tiny flowers when I spied these two absolutely exquisite enamel orchids peaking out from the grasses.  Now let me tell you, I’m always super excited to see these wonderful orchids.  They really are quite special.  I have to thank rainie in Timaru who after a plea for help on how to use the RX10 to take macro received a timely email.  Thanks for the tips rainie, I hope you like the result :).   It was kilometre after kilometre of sensational specimens.  the Stirling Ranges are a hot spot at this time of the year but the camp ground is a cracker and the type of location we both love to stay in.  Quite rustic and very bushy.  The camp kitchen was a hive of activity and believe it or not between our friend Rob and I managed to turn out a Date and Lemon Scone come damper thingy!!  It was delicious and of course it was served with lashings of black jam and cream!!
