Splat!

Watercolour classes have started again! Joy. We’re getting all autumnal and painting leaves. The table at the side of the classroom looked like a nursery school display, it as so lovely!

So I did sketch and paint some leaves using the ‘wet on wet’ technique (I’ll show you those tomorrow) but with my usual impatience I finished that in about twenty minutes and wondered how to spend the next hour.

Violá! Painting the leaves themselves! And then splatting them on the paper. I have to confess that I enjoyed that a lot more than the controlled sketching and colour mixing. So here is a painted leaf splat! With accompanying leaf. :-)
