Jane’s Orchard #4
Mower’s Quench. This unique apple was grown from a seed by Rob. Unlike many seedlings, this one has turned into a wonderful eating apple. The large deep red fruits are long and angular, somewhat resembling Tom Putt, which may be one of its parents. However the fruits are much longer.
Mower’s Quench was named by Rob as he was slogging up and down the hill cutting the hay. In need of refreshments he reached for an apple and it quenched his thirst!
I have grown three more trees from grafts, and we have given a couple to friends. So they are quite rare. I am planning to grow three for our children to plant one each in the future.
