How Does Your Garden Grow?

These little roses are from my allotment. I thought I had lost the rose bush but in the last days of the summer it finally began to flower! The allotment has been fairly productive this year inspite of the heat wave! The worst crop was the beans , which failed to germinate even with 2 sowings! Peas and Broad beans did well, as did the swiss chard that just self seeds on my plot! Fruit was the best yield ever! Actually made Blueberry Jam I had such a good crop! The rest of the Blueberries were used with Redcurrants, Blackcurrants and Red Gooseberries to make muffins! This was a hit with The Exile!
The Exile with her partner was coming back originally to paint the exterior of her house and attend her two sons graduation ceremonies in Aberdeen, but her mothers cancer worsened  rapidly and she came over early.  Her mother went into a hospice and sadly their return from Scotland became a race to get back before she died - she missed her going by 10 mins. The Exiles  sister who came over from Australia was with her. So The Exile then had the funeral arrangements, the clearing of her mums house  and the house to paint. She was pretty exhausted by the time she had to go back to France and get ready for work.
Oscar was possibly even more delighted to have her back as not only did he get to see his mum again, but also his brother! The first weekend they arrived they all stayed with me! The sound of the three dogs going up the wooden stairs to see where they were going to sleep was quite something!  Ginger came on heat on their return from Scotland so Orpheus stayed with us for 2 weeks! They just loved going to the field together - chasing each other around at high speed and play fighting! Video As you can see from the extras they are almost identical and unless Oscar had his harness on it was impossible to tell them apart! When it came the time to take them out I frequently put the harness on Orpheus by mistake!
