Day 4

The Ponte Vecchio in Florence. Better to look at from the side than to go across - on the bridge each side is lined with jewellery shops and that just makes it look cheap (think 'bling'). Also the Duomo is disappointing compared to that in Siena. 

We changed our mind about where to go, and consequently only spent half a day in Florence, after belatedly realising we couldn't get to Mantalcino and back by public transport in a day. If I gave it more time, I'm sure I'd get to like Florence more, as there is loads to see. For instance, we wanted to go to the Boboli gardens but ran out of time.
