Singer

My Mum had a treadle Singer Sewing machine. Other than school uniform and a kilt, my clothes were all made on her machine. I still remember the thrill of getting a bought one when a boy asked me to a dance and there was no time to make one so we went to a local shop. I think I was 16! My Dad bought her an electric machine but she never liked it as much and from then on my clothes were from a shop. But she did make some dresses for my girls when they were young.
My Aunt had one like this where you turned the handle and it was in constant use too. This one in a local charity shop looks as if it has never been used. It was priced at £60.
