Trials …….

A visit this afternoon to RHS Bridgewater, J’s first since early July (I’ve been twice in the meantime, the first to get her something for her birthday).

This is the area devoted to plant trials. The RHS does a lot of science, including with European partners, and here they are testing various varieties of a helenium cultivar which will be compared with trials in other areas with different climates.

As we sat on a swinging chair J commented how relaxing a place this is. A contrast with the real world beyond. The UK government has embarked on a mad (and grossly unfair) economic strategy which is creating turmoil. As if there isn’t enough to worry about. We may need more trips like this.
