Getting To The Heart Of The Matter

We got up very early this morning (4 am!!) to watch the final of Celebrity Masterchef as we were too tired to watch it last night. We wanted to watch it before seeing the morning news or reading the papers (they usually disclose the winner) as we didn't want to know who had won before getting a chance to see the final.
I've thoroughly enjoyed watching this series and the three finalists - All Saints singer Melanie Blatt, McFly's Danny Jones and radio presenter Lisa Snowdon - all thoroughly deserved their places in the final. It was a fantastic final and they all produced fabulous dishes. I won't say who won just in case you're still waiting to watch it on catch-up!
After our very early TV watching we actually went back to bed for a couple of hours before my brother had to get back up again and be out the door just after 6.30 am! He actually looks forward to Fridays as the trains are much quieter and he has a much less stressful journey to and from work.
After I'd dropped him off at the station I went for another early morning run - it was much colder than just a few days ago and I had to wear jogging bottoms and a running jacket for the first time since March.
The rest of the day included some dinner prep for tonight, listening to some podcasts, reading and a cheeky glass of wine at lunchtime.
The day flew past and it was then time to collect my brother from the station again and have our usual pint on the way home at the King & Queen.
Dinner was sausage and mash with red onion gravy followed by homemade chocolate brownies and honeycomb crunch ice cream. Lovely!
We still managed to fit in a Friday Night Kitchen Disco but sadly we were unable to instigate proceedings with the Ding For Disco bell (see previous blip 16th September) as it was nowhere to be found.
Today's shot is of this heart shaped mobile hanging in the window of our sun room (well actually a rather ropey lean-to extension at the back of our house).

So Loco Liz and Kwasi Kwarmikazee have decided the best way to revive the economy is to get rid of the top rate of tax for those earning over  £150,000 a year, abolish the limit on bankers' bonuses, stop the increase in Corporation tax and reduce stamp duty -  all to be paid for by borrowing hundreds of billions of pounds which is more likely to increase the cost of borrowing itself substantially. Completely bonkers and downright dangerous - much more likely to crash the economy than revive it!! This all supposedly based on the 'trickle down' theory - by rewarding those at the top it will trickle down to the rest of the economy and population -  which has already been shown to be a complete fallacy in the past. Delusional arrogance.
