Pilsbury castle

There's not much left of this Norman castle and it feels as if it's not in the right place.as it's in the valley. But it does hold a prominent position for anyone travelling through the valley, so that makes it in quite a strategic place. 

We started our walk from Hartington, via this site along the valley and the river Dove. We then climbed the valley side to return to Hartington. 

You can just see the peak of Chrome Hill behind the tree.
