Enzo & I walked to here for the first time, whilst waiting for new car tyres. Just the tonic I needed today.

The Meeting
The village hall was packed for the "open" meeting on The Green/ Collies development. The PC sat at one end around there U-Shape table formation set the tone for what was to come. Group presentations by the PC (then ourselves, as they had done one) took more time than they should have done.
A combative two hours, with the PC spending much time still trying to discredit our survey (including the "independent" chairman). Still their way or no way (no middle ground on a solution in between, or community group, or joint working). Typical bullies, they again personally attacked my "comrade" in this village meeting as he's so mild mannered; they wouldn't dare do that to me. As expected they continued to gerrymander, mis-represent and in some cases lie, and hear but not listen.
Reward
The PC had agreed (pre -meeting) to keeping our precious mixed hedge, but improving it, as we would. That was a significant part of our (& others) objections - so we're very relieved to at least have achieved that.
Many "less active" people expressed the same view as us, and plenty of heartfelt thanks as we left.
Very pleased that one of the Collies trustees attended to observe what was going on (as well as the many villagers). We get on well, as I do with two others.
There was no final outcome from the meeting, other than that the PC will be discussing next monthly meeting. I don't plan torturing myself by attending with no say other than a 10 minute up front opportunity to speak (before they've said anything).
There are still many avenues for us to pursue in getting the majority view to be listened to, moving onwards.
